Privacy policy

Last updated · May 2026 · v1.4

This policy explains how Sartora collects, uses, and protects your information. It applies to the public website at sartora.app and to the Sartora iOS app while in private preview. We've written it in plain language; the formal definitions follow each section where they matter.

1. The short version

  • We use one full-length reference photo to derive a private silhouette. The photo and the silhouette stay on your account.
  • Try-on outputs are synthetic previews. They live in your private closet, not in public.
  • We never sell personal data. We never use your photo to train third-party models.
  • You can delete your reference photo, your derived silhouette, or your whole account at any time.
  • Sartora is not a retailer. We don't take payment, and we don't share your image with retailers.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

  • Account — your email address, and (optionally) your name and pronouns.
  • Reference photo — one full-length photo you choose to upload. You may update or delete it at any time.
  • Saved looks — items, edits and outfits you save into your closet.
  • Communications — anything you send to [email protected].

2.2 Information generated for you

  • Derived silhouette — a compact private shape profile generated from your reference photo. We use this, not the photo, to render previews.
  • Try-on previews — synthetic images rendered against your silhouette and stored in your private closet.

2.3 Information collected automatically

  • Device and OS version, app version, crash logs, basic analytics on which screens are used. No advertising identifiers.

3. How we use information

  • To run the fitting chamber: derive your silhouette, render synthetic previews, save your looks.
  • To send transactional communications (your access invite, account-related email).
  • To improve the product, using aggregated, non-identifying analytics.
  • To prevent abuse, secure accounts, and respond to legal requirements.

4. What we do not do

  • We do not sell personal data.
  • We do not use your reference photo, your derived silhouette, or your private previews to train third-party AI models.
  • We do not display real customer likenesses in marketing, on this website, in App Store materials, or in partner materials.
  • We do not pass your image to retailers. When you continue to a partner retailer, only an anonymous, look-level signal is attached to the link.

5. Hand-off to retailers

Sartora is not a retailer. When you continue from Sartora to a partner retailer's product page, the retailer collects whatever information you choose to give them, under their own privacy policy. We encourage you to read it. Sartora does not transmit your image, your derived silhouette, or your saved closet to retailers — only the look you elected to continue with.

6. Your rights and controls

  • Delete your reference photo — Settings → Image → Delete. The derived silhouette is deleted with it.
  • Delete a saved look — swipe left on the look in your closet.
  • Delete your account — Settings → Account → Delete account, or email [email protected]. We action within 30 days.
  • Access & portability — request a machine-readable export by email.
  • Correction — update your account details from settings or by email.

7. Data retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active, and for a short period after deletion to satisfy legal and security requirements. Reference photos and derived silhouettes are deleted within 30 days of an explicit deletion request. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics may be retained indefinitely.

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Reference photos are stored encrypted and accessed only to render your synthetic previews. We restrict access on a need-to-know basis. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if a breach affects your data.

9. Children

Sartora is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

10. International transfers

We process data in the country where you live, or in jurisdictions with adequate safeguards. We will update this section as our infrastructure evolves.

11. Changes to this policy

We will tell you about material changes by email and by updating the date at the top of this page.

12. Contact
